The story behind the image
The West Coast of the Algarve region in Portugal is home to some awesome beaches. Most of them were untouched back in 1988 – the main touristic activity was on the South Coast.
This image shows the Ribeira de Seixe shortly before hitting the Atlantic Ocean at Praia de Odeceixe. As you can see on this image, the hills on both sides of the river had not yet been “developed”, and this seems to be still the case. I assume the feeling of freedom has not changed substantially either.
A lovely spot, and a hidden diamond.
