The story behind the image
The northern tip of the Isle of Skye is a must-see for anyone visiting this part of Scotland. A drive along the A885 will provide you with countless stunning views that show the rough beauty of the island.
We stayed in Portree, situated in the middle of Skyes east coast, for a night and were delighted about the maritime mood. The busy town was a perfect base for exploring the northern and most rural part of Skye. We could have easily spent two or three nights here, but without pre-booking it was difficult for us to find a accommodation for more than a night.
Portree? We need to return someday (with pre-booking.)
