The story behind the image
By 2006, my father-in-law had been on early retirement for a couple of years by then and invested into a nice sailing yacht, the Carina, which was stationed at the Schlei in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. But he cruised almost the entire Baltic Sea during the summer months. He would slip the ship into the water in spring and then head for whereever he wanted to go, occasionally taking family and friends on board for a leg of his trip.
And so, Petra and I joined him in July 2006 for a week long trip across the Danish coast. On our way, we encountered several beautiful harbours like this one in Fåborg, a town that could preserve its historic beauty until now.
