The story behind the image
Leaving Dublin in Ireland after a prolonged weekend was hard. It had been so beautiful and full of new impressions (like the final concert of the Robbie Williams world tour in 2003) – yet we had to leave.
We were early at the airport, and there it stood right in front of us, on eye-level: EI-CDD, a Boeing 737-500 by Aer Lingus. At that time, it had been owned by the airline for 12 years. When you look closely, you can see its age as there are spots and marks here and there.
Very, very nice.
P.S.: The aircraft was sold to a Russian aviation company in 2005 and operated until 2013 for Rossiya Russian Airlines before it was scrapped.
