The story behind the image
Lake Garda in Northern Italy is an amazing destination. It almost does not matter where you stay, exactly. You will experience relaxed holidays with a lot of Italian lifestyle, good food, and exciting trips along and across the lake.
One of the really nice spots is Riva del Garda at the northern end of the lake. It is perfect for vacations with kids as the community has rolled out an initiative to become the most kid-friendly town at the lake. And when we visited the town we could see how this worked. Everyone was super-friendly: the staff at the tourist information, at the hotel, in the restaurants and shops. There are several playgrounds, and you can enjoy long walks along the waterfront.
This is an unusual view at the lake, from the Via Giancarlo Maroni in the est, showing the Specchio Acquatico – a protected water area.
