The story behind the image
We had been to Copenhagen in Denmark in 2005 already. But it was February back then and nice – but quite cold. We decided to return in summer.
It took us two years but then – in August 2007 – we had the opportunity to spend a couple of weeks on the yacht of my father-in-law. The starting point for our trip was Copenhagen, so we could re-visit the key attractions, and one of these was certainly Nyhavn, the historic harbour of the city.
The name literally means the “new harbour”, but that’s from former times, when the harbour was actually new. Today it’s home to old ships, and a beautiful sight whatever the weather is. There are pubs and restaurants on either side, and in summer the place is very busy.
Nice – and quite a difference to February!
