The story behind the image
We had booked a guided morning excursion and now I sat on the back of the 4×4. I was tired after a rather sleepless night out in the bush but now I was awake and alert.
Then we saw this giraffe. Admittedly, giraffes are not that uncommon, especially when you have been to the Kruger National Park before. But I liked the way the long neck was sticking out of the surrounding trees. The high viewpoint enabled me to include the seemingly endless and untouched landscape as a backdrop.
Awesome.
