The story behind the image

In her youth, my mother used to be an active horse rider. She began horse riding at the age of 7, and continued until the early 1960s, to the age of 21.

This photo by an unknown photographer (probably her mother or her sister) shows her with a horse in a forest in Northern Germany.

Sadly, the image is not tack-sharp (and the negatives have vanished a long time ago), but I still like the visible joy and pride of my mother, and the alertness of the horse.

Nice.
