The story behind the image
Enroute from Moab – where we spent two nights – to Torrey we visited the Goblin Valley State Park and the Capitol Reef National Park. This park is not as popular as the bigger national parks but it has its own beauty. The Scenic Drive into the park (from the northern entrance) is rather narrow and simplistic. Not even a center line disturbes the view.
My photo shows the look towards north from the Slickrock Divide, which we reached after driving just about 5 miles from the northern entry. You can see the various layers of the rocks indicating different ages in history. To geologists, this is exciting. For photographers, it’s an eye feast.
