The story behind the image
During our trip to Scotland in 2005, we also stopped by in Fraserburgh with its beautiful beach that invites for long refreshing walks. The town features also a working harbour that offers many attractive views. As a sidenote, we were quite surprised to experience difficulties finding a suitable accommodation here. It seems that tourism had not (yet) replaced the traditional economy in this part of Scotland in 2005.
There are some attractions for tourists, though. The most important one is for sure the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses, sitting on the northern cliffs of the town. The museum is home to the largest collection of lighthouse equipment and information in the United Kingdom.
My photo shows the coast seen from the lighthouse museum. It was a sunny but quite windy day, and I love the whitecaps on the deep blue water. It can be rough up there in the north.
