The story behind the image
From Ballater we followed the River Muick down south until we approached the Spittal of Glen Muick Car Park. From here, it’s just a short (about 1 Mile) and easy hike to Loch Muick. The entire area appears unspoilt and beautiful, perfectly suited for long hikes (if you’ve got the time.)
Sadly, we did not have the time as we were heading for the coast again, to Peterhead, to find an accommodation for the night. Well, this did not work out as planned – all the (very few) places were fully booked! Eeeek.
So we started looking for houses around Peterhead and finally found the Greenbrae Farmhouse. Fully booked!! But Jill and her husband were super friendly and refered us to Rob of the Rattray Head Lighthouse B&B. She even called Rob to confirm whether he’s got any rooms left for the night. Wow! We still think back of the wonderful and friendly atmosphere at the Greenbrae Farmhouse and definitely recommend this house to you as well.
