The story behind the image
I like cars. New cars, old cars, small cars, large cars. Whether I have driven them on my own, or not. Here’s one that I did not drive myself, sadly.
I found the car – a Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 Litre – from the 1960s in the Hotelgasse in the downtown of Bern, Switzerland. It looked so impressive and powerful, yet elegant and majestic, a perfect match for this Swiss city. I picked a frontal view to bring out these attributes.
According to Wikipedia, just 30,627 cars of this type were built from 1959 to 1967. There still are plenty of used models available. Prices range from 20,000 to 80,000+ Euros, depending on condition.
Very nice.
