The story behind the image
This historic old west chapel sits just outside Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. It had been built by the early settlers and had been maintained over time.
It sat isolated in the landscape but I could not really get a grip on it. The noon sunlight created a harsh contrast and put the front of the church in the shadow. I couldn’t switch perspective because there was a car park to the left and buildings behind me. I remember walking around looking for an alternative but there was none. Today I realize that I failed. There are many good images of this chapel, so it must have been me.
Sorry.
In the end, I converted it to b&w and applied a perspective correction, but I am still not totally convinced by the result.
