The story behind the image
The other day I posted a photo showing the magnificient view from the Goats & Glacier Lookout which is situated about 38 kilometers south of Jasper, Alberta, at the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93). Here, the highway rises significantly above the bed of the La Biche River and invites for a pause to enjoy nature.
While we did not see bears, we encountered two wild white goats who were walking along the bright white rocks that can be found here.
I like this photo because the white goats blended nicely with the underground, but the shadows created a good backdrop and contrast to highlight the larger of the two animals. (The smaller one, in case you wonder, is in the lower right corner of the image.)
