The story behind the image
I’d attribute the label of ‘magic’ to Cape Town in South Africa. Here, you will meet a wide range of cultures with a rich and diverse history, explore stunning landscapes and discover countless opportunities for exciting photos.
I captured this view of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town in the late afternoon. The sun had begun to dip the scene into warm orange tones, casting some long shadows already. The Table Mountain was in clear sight and not hidden in the clouds (aka as ‘the table cloth’ of the mountain). The maritime atmosphere that we liked so much was just incredible, especially the three mast bark that had been tied right in front of the buildings of the Waterfront buildings.
Looking at recent photos of the location I see that the location has not changed substantially over the past 20 years.
Lovely.
