The story behind the image
We drove from Windhoek along the C26 just to get a sense of the adventure that was lying in front of us: two weeks in Nambia, visiting three National Parks (Etosha, the Skeleton Coast, and the Sossusvlei.) We had picked up our rentral car – a blue Volkswagen Polo Classic – earlier that day and wanted to get acquainted with this new companion. (Please note the clean state of the car!)
For the first few miles, there were no real differences to central Europe or the US. However, after a few kilometers, the tarred section ended and turned into a well maintained gravel highway.
Little did we know that our trip would turn out to be a real adventure! While the gravel highways in Namibia were well maintained, we would find out much later that we were utterly wrong with our choice of a Volkswagen Polo Classic for our trip. More here.
