The story behind the image
The other day I shared the image of ruins we found next to S.S. 198 on the island of Sardinia. As we came from the smaller Strada Provinciale 10 we were greeted by these road signs. Apparently some folks must have been very bored and had been shooting at the signs! I found the hits of the bullets a good match for the walls of the ruins in the background. A bit bizarre maybe, but interesting.
The sign has been replaced since 2010, and the brown ones (pointing to the nearby attractions of the Tour dei Nuraghi) have been removed completely. The building was still a ruin in July 2024.
