The story behind the image
This morning I shared an image from our family archive showing my grandmother, Edith Schweim. Here’s another nice portrait of her, shot in early summer 1962, probably in a cafe or restaurant in Eutin or Malente-Gremsmühlen in Germany. Edith looks stylish, fit, and healthy, and her age (56) does not show at all. The warm, adorable smile on her face that makes me melt away.
I would have loved to meet her in person.
Edith was born on this day in 1905 in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany.
