The story behind the image
When you visit Switzerland you won’t get away without noticing – and probably visiting – the huge mountains in the Swiss Alps. Close to Bern in the Berner Oberland there are countless opportunities for beautiful summer hikes and trails.
In 2004 we spent a full day for a trip from Bern to the village of Mürren and to the Schilthorn Mountain.
After the arrival at the Mürren BLM train station we found a beautiful mountain village that is as Swiss as it can be. Almost like a large-size replica of a model train landscape.
Here’s further evidence for the beauty of the location: a panoramic view of the mountains. In the back the Breithorn dominates the landscape, in the front the Hotel Restaurant Alpenblick greets the visitors as they approach the village by train.
It’s nice to see that Mürren – depsite of the masses of tourists flooding the village every day – has been able to preserve some of its coziness and beauty.
