The story behind the image
When you are staying in Moab, you should plan half a day for Canyonlands National Park as well. It’s not as popular as other national parks in the area (especially when compared to Arches National Park), but it’s worth the side trip.
You will find that especially Mesa Arch is beautiful in the mornings, when the sun illuminates the arch from behind. My photo shows the area behind Mesa Arch – the cliffs along the Grand View Point Road. You can clearly see the rock formations called ‘The Washer Woman’ and ‘The Airport Tower’ (in the distance.)
I am amazed by the technical quality of the image. Shot on 100 ASA slide film it is (almost) as crisp as a digital photo today, despite being 2+ decades old already.
Very, very nice.
