The story behind the image
Arches National Park is one of the really impressive parks in Utah. Yesterday I shared an image showing the view towards north-west from the Park Avenue trailhead which is located just two miles from the visitor center.
I took this photo from the viewpoint which offers several stunning views of the canyon. We reached this location on a short paved path from the parking lot. The Park Avenue Trail itself continues for about one mile long (one way) to Courthouse Towers.
I love the saturated colors that were enhanced by using a polarized filter. It’s also good to see that despite the harsh contrasts details can still be seen in the shadows (and it’s not an HDR image.)
A cool image.
