The story behind the image

In 2001 I had been frequently traveling to Madrid, Spain. One weekend, Petra joined me, and we explored the city together.

This image shows the historic city hall (Casa de la Villa) with its small courtyard and the Monumento a Don Álvaro de Bazán. Since 2011, the building is not used any longer as a city hall but still has some offices. Wikipedia has the details.

Of course, it would have been great to have a better camera than the Kodak as the resolution is really small by todays standards, but I think that it’s OK for the blog and serves me as a nice memory. Remember, these were still early days for digital photography, and the Kodak served me well during that period.
