The story behind the image
Despite me being rather tall (6’5″), we had booked a small four door sedan car for our USA trip. We thought that it wouldn’t be too bad and wanted to save some money in order to stay a bit longer and make this long trip truly unforgettable.
However, when we picked up the car at the Avis rental station in San Francisco, the service agent looked us, shook her head and said something like: “Oh, you’re soo tall. I’m afraid the car you’ve booked won’t work too well for you.” And then she provided us a free upgrade to the next category.
So, we got a white Pontiac Grand Am sedan car, and we were extemely happy with it. It mastered all roads without any problems. After our visit to the Monument Valley in Arizona it was covered all over with red dust and looked really dirty – which made a very nice photo.
By the way, the dust got washed away during the remaining trip.
