The story behind the image
Petra and I got married today, exactly 21 years ago, and this day was certainly one of the best days in my life. First came the official part at the registry office in Unterhaching, just the formal and somewhat bureaucratic step needed for legal reasons. And then, at 2 pm, came the formal wedding at the Heilandskirche in Unterhaching, followed by a reception in the backyard of the church and a party with family and friends in Grünwald near Munich.
Our friend Ina captured the moment when we left the church. We were still a bit puzzled about the fact that we were married. Also, the church was rather dark, and stepping out into the bright sunlight was an almost blinding experience.
Petra looks beautiful as ever, and I look a lot younger, too. It’s hard to believe that we’ve now been married for 21 years, and I love her just like back then. Time flies!
