The story behind the image
On the 28th August 2002, after three intense weeks in British Columbia and Alberta, we had to leave. We had picked up a clean car and returned it now pretty dirty, alas from the outside. (See exhibit B above.) The car had served us for a total distance of 4,559 kilometers (2,833 miles) and never failed upon us. Not on Vancouver Island, not between Bella Coola and Williams Lake, and not in the Rocky Mountains. Awesome!
The entire trip turned B.C. into my dream place to be. I wouldn’t have expected that before our trip. But during the trip I realized that it can’t get any better, really. B.C. has got it all: the Rocky Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, the wildlife, super-friendly and relaxed people, and Vancouver. A city that is big enough to be a real city but not as huge as L.A., New York, Paris, or London. It’s a city on the doorstep to adventure.
Needless to say, I fully support the tagline on the numberplate – Beautiful British Columbia.
