The story behind the image
We had stopped our car at the Silvaplanersee in county Engadin in Switzerland – not because we needed a break but because we wanted a break. Quite simply because we where overwhelmed by the beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
This place made us wonder why someone would actually travel all the way to the Canadian Rocky Mountains to enjoy such clarity and freshness? The water of the lake was so clear, and the air was so fresh and tasty that we felt (almost) like being in Canada.
The Silvaplanersee is located between Lago Maggiore and Davos – a perfect stopover enroute.
