The story behind the image
Camps Bay is situated west of the majestic Table Mountain. It is well worth a side trip from Cape Town or a stopover when returning from the Cape of Good Hope. While you are here, you may get some food (for example at the good The Bungalow restaurant) and watch the paragliders land on the green right in front of the restaurant!
We did exactly this on a late afternoon and enjoyed the approaching sunset and view of the Table Mountain in front of a clear blue sky. Often you may find the top hidden in the clouds (aka ‘The Tablecloth’).
On my photo you can spot the cable car approaching the top! The high resultion image (scanned from a 35 mm slide) even shows the cables.
Very nice.
