The story behind the image

Utah has been the most impressive part of our trip to the U.S. in 2003. That’s because we did not expect this kind of beauty. Sure, Big Sur, Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon are as beautiful as the less popular National Parks in Utah, but we had expected this beauty. However, here, in Utah we had no idea how stunningly beautiful it would be.

Zion National Park is such a gem. We had picked an affordable motel in Springdale so we could visit the park early the next morning. In the evening, we left the motel for dinner and were overwhelmed by the sight of the ‘Alpenglow’ that took place right in front of us. The Watchman mountain was illuminated by the setting sun – in deeply saturated red and orange colors!

Simply awesome, and quite unexpected.
