The story behind the image
The drive to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe took us about 90 minutes from the Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane, Botsuana, including border crossing and immigration procedure. While the drive was uneventful, the experience of the thundering waterfalls was truly exciting.
But we also took our time to explore the town of Victoria Falls. It appeared to us that tourism has brought economical growth as there were many supermarkets and small shops offering everything needed for living (and souvenirs, of course.)
My photo shows the A8 towards north-west, seen from the Victoria Falls Car Park. The highway leads up to the nearby border crossing to Zambia (behind me.) It was very slow that day, probably because it was at the beginning of rainy season, and I like the relaxed African lifestyle perfectly visualized by the two ladies who slowly walked towards the town center.
