The story behind the image
County Cork in Ireland is a beautiful space. Cork itself is a vibrant small city, and its surroundings feature some stunning locations. Like the village of Roches Point, which is situated 40 minutes by car from downtown Cork. It sits on a small peninsula with a small lighthouse (Roches Point Lighthouse) at its end.
The afternoon light was perfect for this shot from Lighthouse Terrace towards Trabolgan, the narrow road that leads into the village.
Looking at recent Google Streetview images I see that very little has changed here over the past 25 years. And I really like this thought, given the speed of change elsewhere.
