The story behind the image
In October 2023 I had a business trip to Saarbrücken in Germany, a young and vibrant city with a rich history (but that’s about it in terms of richness.) Its proximity to France can be sensed almost everywhere.
In the evening, I took my time to explore the city center. The sun had already set, and the Blue Hour – the time between sunset and darkness – had already set in. The view from the old bridge in the city center was breathtaking. The river Saar flowed gently, mirroring the street lights and the remaining light of the sky.
The HDR function of the phone camera did a good job capturing the scene, but the noise is slightly irritating.
I like the image anyway.
