The story behind the image
Hamburg in Germany is best known for its huge harbour. The walk from the historic Speicherstadt (the former storage harbour) towards the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken was an eye feast for us, declared lovers of maritime settings.
This image of the Cap San Diego, a retired cargo vessel that now is a museum ship protected by the City of Hamburg. Fortunately, it is kept operational, so it is not just a swimming piece of steel but can (and does!) sail every now and then.
I had just brought the tiny Ricoh CX1 for this short trip, but I really like how this image brings out the maritime atmosphere.
Nice.
