The story behind the image
This beautiful image of Donostia-San Sebastian in Spain was shot 67 years ago from the viewpoint high up over the old town, near the Bateria Santiago which overlooks the harbor and the bay.
I really like the sharpness of the photo print and the fact that the relative was brave enough to shoot against the sunlight, resulting in nice contrasts and a high-key mood.
The area has not changed substantially over the past decades, which makes this shot even more interesting (in my view.)
