The story behind the image
We approached the Canadian Rocky Mountains from the west, coming from Clearwater which was our last stopover prior to Jasper. Clearwater is a busy community just south of the Wells Gray Provincial Park with several stunning hikes and viewpoints. It is less busy compared to the Jasper National Park, though, which makes it very attractive for those looking for a peaceful time out in the woods.
We stayed for two nights in Clearwater, which gave us the opportunity to visit Wells Gray Provincial Park for a full day.
This image shows a view across Dutch Lake near the Jasper Way Inn Motel. In the back you see the hills and mountains of the Wells Gray Provincial Park.
I really like this image. It visualizes freedom, nature, adventure, bravery, clarity, purity, but also relaxation – an invitation to jump into the canoe and try something new!
