The story behind the image
We had picked up our rental car in San Francisco downtown. Now our adventure could begin: discovering the beauty of the Highway Number 1.
The clouds from the previous days were almost gone and the sun was shining brightly. So, our first stop was Marine Drive on the east side of the bridge.
In this photo I like the swirls in the water – hinting at the enormous power of the Ocean – and the reduced color set (all blue and red.) I remember that construction works were performed at the time, and the southern side of the bridge was more or less covered by planes and cranes. That’s why I opted for an angle that simply cropped these parts of the bridge away.
I love it.
