The story behind the image
We were at the Jugendhaus Berghof in Agatharied, Bavaria, today. Not only is this an affordable accommodation for youth groups and located near the Bavarian Alps – it is also an inspiring photo location. On a meadow there was an object that looked like a giant satellite dish. However, it was made from mirrors to cook water using solar energy. For safety reasons, the dish was pointing downward and away from the sun.
I realized that this would be an awesome opportunity to take a self portrait. Some of the mirrors were missing, so the blue sky would be visible, adding yet another layer to the weird reflection.
Of course, it’s just a fun shot, but I really like it. 😉
