Golden Gate Bridge in the Mist, San Francisco, 2003

The story behind the image

Did I tell you that San Francisco is an eye-feast for photographers? I did.

Here’s another proof point. I shot this image from the pier protecting the Aquatic Park Cove near Fisherman’s Wharf. However, the iconic bridge was hiding in dense mist or clouds – while the sun was shining over San Francisco! At first I was disappointed about this and not seeing the construction in all its entirety.

Then I realized that this view was quite attractive, too, as it portrays a certain mystery and uncertainty about what may be behind the bridge and behind the Pacific Ocean?

Love it.
