The story behind the image

If you have not noticed by now – we’re attracted by maritime settings. I grew up at the seaside, and I love the fresh and tasty air, the (sometimes) strong wind, the calls of the seagulls, the sandy beaches, and the constant activity on the water and at the harbour.

When we travelled to Ireland in 1999, we also stopped by in Portmarnock, located about 15 km north of Dublin’s city center. The giant beach invited for a long walk. And one brave Irishman even took a bath! For us, it was too cold.

My photo shows the beach from the cliffs at its northern end next to Martello Tower. I love the dominating blue tones and the nice mix of puffy clouds.

Nice.
