The story behind the image

On my trip to Mexico City I spent the morning before my flight back to Germany at the Bosque de Chapultepec, a large park within walking distance to my hotel. It is the ‘green lung’ of the city and offers plenty of opportunities for recreation.

But there’s more to be discovered: Namely, the National Museum of Antropology. The muesum is one of the finest of its kind and should not be missed. Most of your questions about historic Mexico will be answered here. I’d recommend at least a half-day visit, preferrable in the morning as it can get quite hot in the museum during daytime.

My photo shows one of the most important pieces: The Stone of the Fifth Sun. (As usual, Wikipedia has a lot of details.)

I love this photo, because it shows the perfect presentation of the stone, its huge dimensions and the amazement it creates with the visitors.

When in Mexico City, do yourself a favor and visit the Museo Nacional de Antropologico.
