The story behind the image
During our recent trip to Paris, France, we encountered a wild mix of weather – ranging from clear skies with lots of sunshine to cold periods with heavy rain.
One day – after some drizzle in the morning – the sky cleared up, and we spontaneously decided to hop on a one-hour boat excursion along the river Seine. And we were truly lucky that it stayed dry, because the minute we left the boat it started to rain heavily again. Fortunately, we could seek shelter under Pont Neuf until the rain stopped.
I was quite happy with the excursion that went from Pont Neuf around Ile Saint-Louis, to the Eiffel Tower and back to Pont Neuf. Of course, there were countless photo opportunities and the live commentary was very good and entertaining.
I captured this photo after the boat had turned. I love the fact that the tourist points to the tip of the Eiffel Tower, creating an axis between the tip and the bottom of the photo.
Very nice.
