The story behind the image
A walk through the Westpark in Munich, Germany, is beautiful. The park is off the typical tourist routes – i.e., City Center, English Garden, Olympic Park, and the Isar River – but it has something for everyone. You get large meadows that can be used for sports, picnics, or just relaxation. The trails are perfect for runs of any distance. You can visit a historic Bavarian barn. There are beer gardens, several playgrounds, and lots of flowers. The perfect place for relaxation.
Oh, and you’ve got an Asian section as well, a leftover from the International Garden Exhibition in 1983. My image shows the Sala Temple from Thailand, and open building with a Buddha statue in its center.
When we visited the park on a nice day in autumn, the temple was beautifully illuminated by the afternoon sun. The front was gleaming in golden shades, which stood further out thanks to the harsh contrasts created by the sunlight.
Lovely.
