The story behind the image
Last year we visited the awesome State Museum of Egyptian Art in Munich, Germany. A fantastic experience!
Right next to the museum we stumbled upon an old MAN rail bus from 1952 – the Minna Thiel restaurant. It is named after the deceased wife of the railway guard Thiel in Gerhart Hauptmann’s novel Bahnwärter Thiel. Minna’s character is at the core of the story as she is the content, longing, passion, and driving force, of the stumbling main character.
Since May 2017, the charming Minna Thiel has moved permanently to the meadow in front of the HFF Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (University for television and film Munich). Since then, the Minna Thiel has become a popular meeting place for students from the surrounding universities. It offers readings, workshops, live and DJ music, and more.
