The story behind the image
During our 2009 trip to Nova Scotia we explored the coastline of Minas Basin between Upper Burlington and Walton. Here we found the stunning Bramber Flower Pot Rock area. Sadly, the weather was just so-so – cloudy with some upcoming rain. This prevented decent shots of the Flower Pot Rock.
However, I liked the look of this crack in a rock. I positioned the crack in a diagonal line from top left to bottom right to achieve a graphical look. Seen like this, it could be a satellite view of a narrow canyon, a crack in a rock (go figure), or the wrinkled skin of an elephant.
The image invites for further exploration of the details – a true eye-catcher.
