The story behind the image
We wanted our trip back from Lago di Como to Munich to be part of the vacation and opted for a slower than usual route that avoided highways. Instead we drove from Gravedona in Italy via St. Moritz and Scuol in Switzerland to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany. Along the way we also passed Biberwier in Austria and stopped for a coffee at the Zugspitzblick Rasthaus next to the road. Situated at 1210 meters altitude, it offers stunning views of the Alpine surroundings.
This place made us wonder (again!) why someone would actually travel all the way to the Canadian Rocky Mountains to enjoy such clarity and freshness? It sure felt like being in Canada!
