The story behind the image

Lake Como is an awesome place. It’s no surprise that some of the rich and famous flock to this place. It has the charms of Italy and is surrounded by the hills and mountains of the Alps. And – just in case you did not know – Como has one of the most active floatplane bases in Europe (which makes sense, as the large lake is perfectly suited for take offs and landings.)

We explored the lake using the official public transport ferry (Navigazione Laghi) and had visited Bellagio earlier that day. We took another break at Varenna and entered the Greenway dei Patriarchi, a long and beautifully winded hike that closely follows the coastline. Even if you don’t do the full two-hour hike (one way), it provides a perfect experience.

While still in Varenna, we came to the Vecchia Varenna, a restaurant with its patio right above the lake and several tables in the narrow pathway.

I adore this photo. It is super versatile and offers plenty of copyspace for those who need it. Nice.
