The story behind the image
County Cork in Ireland is a beautiful space, and Cork is a small, vibrant city.
The late afternoon light was perfect for this shot along River Lee, with the Parliament Bridge in the front and the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in the back (which was undergoing renovation works in 1999.) I love the Swan that approached us on the river.
Looking at recent street photography of that location I see that the area has not changed at all over the past 25 years. Personally, I like this idea of continuity.
