The story behind the image
As long as summer has not arrived in Central Europe, it is always a good idea to think of a nice, warm place you’ve encountered. Los Cristianos at the south coast of the island of Tenerife in Spain certainly qualifies for this. You’ll get clean, light brown sand (which is not typical for Tenerife), neatly arranged sun chairs, a small yacht harbour, and a number of palm trees at the beach promenade. The nearby town center offers all amenities you could possibly think of. Add warm temperatures and a clear sky, and you’re set up for the perfect day.
We were in Los Cristianos in the late afternoon and the sun was already casting long shadows, creating warm, saturated colors. At the promenade, where the Av. Los Playeros meets the beach, I discovered this group of palm trees. Shooting straight up provided me an unusual angle and an image that can be used universally. I really like the various shades of green, yellow, and orange that work well with the clear blue sky.
And yes, it is perfect for day-dreaming of the summer. Nice.
