The story behind the image
Arches National Park is one of the really impressive parks in Utah.
This photo shows Double Arch which the third largest arch in the National Park. To be counted as an ‘arch’, the opening has to be at least three feet in diameter.
From the Double Arch Trailhead you can not just visit Double Arch, but also several stunning rock formations featuring arches – Turret Arch, North Windows Arch, and South Window Arch, and they are all within walking distance on easy paths. How much better can it get?
I really like the clear blue sky that contrasts well with the red color of the rock formations. It is an unusual perspective, so you instinctively try to find out what the photo actually shows, drawing the viewer further into the image. The reduced color set is nice, too.
