The story behind the image
We drove northbound along Highway 19A towards Campbell River on Vancouver Island.
We discovered the wreck of the Brico. In a former life she was a cable-laying ship that was beached on the shores near Fanny Bay to serve as a restaurant for a while. She was pulled ashore in 1964 and was even mentioned in the official B.C. travel guide book in 2002. Yet, the vessel was dismantled and taken to a scrap yard in 2008. I like the bright red color and dark blue sky and the name in white that really is an eye catcher. It would even work as a poster promoting a ‘Brico’ restaurant (see below.)
