The story behind the image
On our trip through Arizona and Utah we took our time to drive from Mexican Hat to Moab and we discovered several stunning sights enroute, like the Goosenecks State Park, the Twin Rocks, and Newspaper Rock.
Directly at highway 191 we found Wilson Arch, a beautiful gigantic natural arch. Even if it looked quite close to the parking lot, it took us a while to get up to the arch, and we were glad that we had brought good hiking shoes. Once we had made it up there, we enjoyed the views and silence.
I took this shot from directly underneath the arch. The sun spot is very nice with its beams at the edge of the rock formation, and the simplicity of the image is nice, too. It’s just the blue sky, the rock, and the sun.
Great!
